What Microsoft says
“Create parameterized AL tests from reusable data sources, and attach lifecycle handlers for shared setup, cleanup, logging, measurement, and test reporting. Business value: Developers can build more maintainable AL test suites by separating reusable test data and lifecycle behavior from individual test procedures. Data-driven tests reduce duplicated test code, while test handlers provide a consistent way to implement logging, cleanup, performance measurement, and custom reporting across many test codeunits. These capabilities make it easier to expand test coverage, standardize test execution, and understand failures without adding the same setup and instrumentation code to every test.”
