Key points
- Search ‘trial balance’ in Business Central to find both the Trial Balance report (similar to the GP summary trial balance) and the Detailed Trial Balance report.
- The Detailed Trial Balance report shows balances and the transactions posted to each account. It has an option to print a new page per GL account and can be filtered to one account or a range.
- The Trial Balance (summary) report compares current year balances to last year or to budgeted amounts, and can show the variance as a percentage.
- Budget comparison in the trial balance needs budgets to be configured in Business Central.
- The summary report supports rounding (e.g. to the nearest dollar) and filters by account range and date range.
- Reports can be previewed or sent to PDF, Word, or Excel; Excel allows further analysis and different visuals.
- Searching ‘aged accounts’ lists both AP and AR aging reports. The AR aging report can age by transaction date or due date, uses a selectable aging date, and can print in detail.
