Overview
Gate entry is part of the India local functionality. It keeps a record of material that enters (inward) and exits (outward) the organization and relates each movement to a source document such as a purchase order, sales order, transfer order or a return order.
Start with the setup page, which describes the requirements for inventory and posting number series. After that, the inward page explains how to create gate entries and attach them to incoming documents. The outward page explains the same for goods leaving, including transport and vehicle details and posting.
Key points
- Gate entry tracks material entrance and exit in the India localization, in both inward and outward directions.
- Setup comes first and requires number series for inventory and posting.
- Inward gate entries apply to purchase orders, transfer orders and sales return orders.
- Inward entries record source type and challan number, and can be attached to the document and viewed after posting.
- Inward gate entry integrates with warehouse receipts.
- Outward gate entries apply to sales orders, transfer shipments and purchase return orders.
- Outward entries capture transport details and vehicle tracking, are attached to a source document, and are then posted.
