Overview
The Sustainability Power BI app bundles several reports for tracking emissions, water, waste, and ESG metrics. Different reports suit different roles, from sustainability teams and managers to HR managers and executives.
Start with the Sustainability Power BI app page for the list of reports. Then open the report pages: Sustainability Overview, Journey to Net Zero Carbon, Realized Emissions vs Target, Realized Emissions vs Baseline, Emissions by Category and Scope, Water and Waste Analysis, Social Analysis, and the CO2e reports (Analysis, Decomposition Tree, Key Influences).
For the data side, the semantic model page describes the fact and dimension tables in a star schema. The KPIs and measures page lists the measures with formulas and data sources.
Key points
- Sustainability Overview gives high-level emissions, water, and waste metrics by category, scope, and month, including CO2, CH4, N2O, water, and waste Realized %.
- Realized Emissions vs Target compares actual emissions to scorecard targets; Realized Emissions vs Baseline compares them to predefined baselines.
- Journey to Net Zero Carbon tracks emissions metrics and renewable energy use by global dimensions, with year-over-year comparison.
- Emissions by Category and Scope breaks values down by account category, subcategory, and scope to inform supplier and procurement decisions.
- CO2e Analysis tracks monthly CO2e by category and purchased carbon credits; Decomposition Tree and Key Influences help find the main emission contributors and drivers.
- Water and Waste Analysis covers usage by facility and location, with year-over-year and day-over-day comparisons and intensity vs baseline measures.
- Social Analysis shows employee ESG metrics such as gender distribution, absence hours, qualifications, and union membership.
- The semantic model uses sustainability ledger entries, employee data, and sustainability goals as fact tables, with dimensions for accounts, employees, emission fees, and responsibility centers.
