Overview

This section describes how Business Central works inside Microsoft Teams. Users install the Business Central app, then look up contacts such as customers, vendors, and prospects from the command box or message compose area. They can share records as interactive cards or share page links into chats and channels, and add Business Central tabs that show list and card pages.

The pages fit together as a path from setup to daily use. Start with the integration overview, then the install page. After that, use the pages on contact search, record sharing, and tabs. The settings page covers switching environment or company and managing the account connection.

Administrators have two pages. One covers managing the integration: licensing, permissions, card data visibility, centralized app deployment through Teams app setup policies, and data retention and compliance settings. The other covers letting Microsoft 365 licensed users access data in Teams without a Business Central license.
