Overview

A one-minute “What’s Cooking in Business Central” clip from February 2025. It starts from the known ability to filter fields in the data analysis feature, then shows that totals can be filtered as well, like in normal reports.

In the demo, an accounts receivable report in analysis mode contains rows with zero amounts. The presenter applies a filter on the aggregated column, setting it to greater than zero, and the zero rows disappear. The filtered setup can then be saved as part of the data analysis definition.

Key points

  • Data analysis mode already lets you filter fields in the analysis filter menu; you can also filter on totals.
  • Filtering on totals works on the aggregated (totaled) column, just like in normal reports in Business Central.
  • Demo: in an accounts receivable report, a ‘greater than zero’ filter on the totaled remaining amount column removes the rows with zero amounts.
  • The filtered setup can be saved as part of the data analysis definition.
