- Overview of warehouse processes for project purchases
- Demo setup with different location warehouse requirements
- Creating purchase order for project items
- Generating inventory put-aways and warehouse receipts
- Posting transactions and registering project consumption
Overview
The video covers how purchase orders for project items can use standard warehouse processes. A location may require a put-away, a warehouse receipt, or both, and purchase orders can now be created for locations with directed put-away and pick enabled.
The demo sets up locations with different warehouse requirements, creates a purchase order for project items, and generates inventory put-aways and warehouse receipts as needed. It ends by posting the transactions and registering project consumption. At the main location, items are received directly from the purchase order with no special warehouse handling.
Key points
- Purchase orders for project items can be created for locations with directed put-away and pick, warehouse receipt, or put-away requirements.
- A location with directed put-away and pick enabled (the white location in the demo) requires both receipt and put-away steps.
- Locations that require put-away get an inventory put-away document; the demo uses the silver location and posts it to receive the item.
- Locations that require receipt get a warehouse receipt, and separate receipts are created for locations with different warehouse settings.
- At the main location, items can be received directly from the purchase order without warehouse handling of inbound transactions.
- When the purchase order is linked to a project, the put-away step is skipped because items are consumed immediately.
- After the invoice is posted, the project planning lines show quantity and cost already registered.
