Overview

This section describes the Service Management part of the Contoso Coffee demo data. The demo data includes resources with skills, service items, and loaner items. You can use it to try the service module without building your own data.

The introduction page explains what the demo data contains and how the service module is configured. Two walkthroughs follow. One shows service orders for service items: creating the order, handling a loaner item, registering repair work, and posting the service invoice. The other shows service contracts for regular maintenance: creating service items and contracts, then service orders, resource allocation, time entries, and posting.

Start with the introduction, then pick the walkthrough that matches the scenario you want to see: repair work (service orders) or recurring maintenance (service contracts).
