Overview

The video walks through reservation and fulfillment changes in 2023 release wave 2. It starts with the classic sales order workflow and its limits, then shows a new Reserved from Stock field (none, partial, or full) on sales order lines and other demand documents.

Key points

  • Reserved from Stock is a new per-line field on demand documents with three values: none, partial, or full. It also appears on document statistics pages to show the overall status.
  • Automatic reservation already happens for assemble to order, capable to promise and order planning; with lot-for-lot or reorder point policies you must reserve manually.
  • The Reservation Worksheet page uses Get Demand to gather sales, transfer, job, assembly and production demand for items available in stock, and creates reservations in far fewer clicks.
  • The Allocate action suggests quantities to reserve in a safe way; demand is skipped when quantity is insufficient or the system cannot decide how to split it.
  • Two allocation policies exist today (the default safe one and Equally); they can be combined and more are planned.
  • Worksheet batches filter by demand type, date range, items (any item field, including custom fields), location and allocation policies; filters are copied to Get Demand and an Allocate after populate toggle runs allocation automatically.
  • Lines marked with the Accept toggle are reserved with Make Reservation, optionally for specific document types.
