What's New: Default Sustainability Information (2025 release wave 1)
Default sustainability values in Business Central (2025 release wave 1): an optional setting in sustainability setup, off by default, adds default sustainability account and emission fields to GL accounts, items, resources and machine centers. Those defaults carry over to purchase document lines and can be edited there.

Overview
The video explains how to turn on default sustainability values in sustainability setup. Once enabled, new fields appear on GL accounts, item cards, resource cards and machine center cards. The presenter demos items, resources, and GL accounts, then shows the defaults flowing into purchase invoice lines.
GL accounts get only a default sustainability account, not emission values. On items, the fields depend on the replenishment system. The calculate carbon equivalent action fills the carbon equivalent per unit field, on cards and on list views. Item charge defaults are not enabled yet and are planned for a later wave, with the value chain functionality that is in public preview.
