Overview

The video explains how the Shopify Connector handles Shopify B2B companies whose locations represent different business or legal entities. Locations can differ in address, payment terms and buyers. Because each legal entity is a customer in Business Central, locations need to be mapped to customers.

The demo imports B2B orders from several locations, then shows the new Shopify Companies and Shopify Locations lists and how locations are mapped to sell-to and bill-to customers. It also shows creating Shopify companies and locations from existing Business Central customers, with optional automatic catalog creation per location, and syncing payment terms.

Key points

  • Shopify B2B company locations can have different addresses, payment terms and buyers, and each location can represent a different legal entity. In Business Central, each legal entity is a customer.
  • The Shopify Companies list shows companies and a fact box with the number of locations. In the demo, the company was mapped to a customer automatically by tax ID.
  • The Shopify Locations list shows address, tax information and payment terms. It has sell-to and bill-to customer number fields for more advanced mapping scenarios.
  • Without location mapping, all imported orders went to the same customer. After locations were mapped to different sell-to and bill-to customers, re-synced orders got those customers.
  • Business Central customers can be pushed to Shopify. You add a company, then use ‘add customers as Shopify locations’, which fills in tax registration, address, payment terms and sell-to/bill-to customers.
  • Whether separate catalogs are created per location depends on a setting in Business Central.
