Overview

The video walks through what changed in the Shopify Connector for product, price, B2B and order management. It covers items and products (tariff codes, barcode mapping, the unlisted status), price sync visibility through skipped records, and a feedback button on the shop card.

It then covers B2B company synchronization and catalogs (with a recommendation for market-based catalogs), tax registration import, and two small localization extensions for Belgium and the US. The last part covers order handling: Shopify order numbers, contact numbers, multi-line orders with exchanges, return orders from refunds, and tax area code overrides. Some of the tax details are described as pre-release.

Key points

  • Tariff code sync imports and exports harmonized system codes between items and Shopify products. Codes are not auto-created, so they must already exist in the Business Central tariff list or they are ignored on import.
  • The new ‘Find mapping by barcode’ shop card field controls whether item references are searched by barcode when SKU mapping fails. It is hidden by default and needs personalization to show. When enabled it can map several variants to one Business Central entity.
  • Skipped records page and Role Center widget show items skipped during price sync, such as sales-blocked items, and API errors. The job queue still marks these runs as successful.
  • B2B company synchronization is now visible by default for all Shopify plans. Auto-creating a B2B catalog is only available for Plus and Advanced plans. B2B catalogs are imported only if the matching company exists in Business Central.
  • Market-based catalogs are recommended over company-location catalogs. Linking several B2B catalogs to the same Shopify catalog makes the last sync overwrite earlier prices.
  • Belgium and US localization extensions are released outside AppSource. The Belgium one adds an ‘enterprise number’ option for company tax ID mapping, because VAT registration ID mapping previously failed there.
  • The new ‘Use Shopify order number’ setting uses the Shopify order number as the sales document number. The number series must allow manual numbers. Orders imported before the setting was turned on inherit the old value and must be unlinked and marked as not processed first.
