Overview

The video walks through new sales order agent capabilities in Business Central. It follows an email with attachments through the agent: the agent reviews each attachment, categorizes it as reviewed, valid format with no relevant content, or not supported, then checks item availability and asks the user for help when it is stuck. The user can answer with custom instructions, for example to substitute an unavailable item.

The second half covers agent settings. These include a custom signature for agent-generated emails, attachment analysis limits, review levels for registered senders, and review points for quotes, quote confirmations and sales orders. It also shows the agent using capable to promise to set shipping dates, and creating a sales order straight from an email without a quote or intermediate reviews.

Key points

  • The agent reviews email attachments and categorizes them as reviewed, valid format with no relevant content, or not supported.
  • Attachment analysis currently supports PDF and images; the default limit is 100 emails per day, and emails over the limit are processed the following day.
  • Custom instructions let a user guide the agent when it is stuck, for example to substitute an unavailable item.
  • A custom signature, edited in a rich text editor with links and images, is used on emails the agent generates. A character limit applies, but most signatures fit.
  • For registered senders there are three levels: review all messages (default), review only the first message with automatic follow-ups, or fully automatic. Keeping review all is recommended for unregistered senders.
  • The agent uses capable to promise to calculate and set the shipment date when items are not available on the requested date.
  • Review can be required when the quote is created, when the quote confirmation is sent, and when the sales order is created. If quote review is unchecked, the agent handles requests from registered senders for available items without intermediate reviews: it creates the quote, converts it to an order, and asks only for confirmation of the outgoing message.
