What they didn't say - 2026 release wave 2

Microsoft no longer publishes per-feature release plans. The baseline here is the official documentation: 81 documented features (docs-preview-features, docs-whatsnew-overview, ai-at-work-roadmap, checked 2026-10-02). Against that: 59 documented features were shown or discussed in the videos, 22 were not, 170 things from the videos have no documented counterpart, and 45 features have a status conflict between docs and video (5 where the presenters stated the status, the rest where they said nothing and GA is implied by launch event convention while the docs say preview).

Docs checked on 2026-10-02. Microsoft keeps filling the documentation after the launch event. "Not documented" below means "not on Microsoft's what's new pages for the wave on that date"; a feature can be described in the product documentation without having its own what's new item, and a later check can move items out of these lists. The check date is release_plan.fetched_at in the data; rerun pipeline step 04 with --fetch to refresh it.

Stage time went to things that demo well and file badly. BC-Bench filled several developer-tools slots, and Subcontracting got a long run of short segments, from migration to item charges. Shopify tax handling and Fabric mirroring, both preview, also had no item of their own. Many of these are in product docs anyway, so part of the gap is filing. The documented but unshown list is mostly small quality of life: recent searches in Tell Me, image previews, avatars in lists, AL MCP logging. Nobody films a log file.

The status column is messier. Dozens of Expense Agent, withholding tax and EDI items were shown without a label, while the docs say preview. Silence is not GA, so check the docs before promising a customer anything.

The commentary above was written by Claude from the lists below (claude-haiku-4-5-20251001). The lists are generated from the data; confidence levels come from the matching step and from data/release-plan/overrides.json.

Shown but not documented (the gems)

170 features from the videos have no what's new item of their own. 57 of them are described in Microsoft's product documentation anyway (a how-to or dev-itpro article, found by hand on 2026-10-02); 113 were not found in the docs we checked.

Nothing said on stage, docs agree

99 matched features where the presenters never said preview or GA (so GA by the launch event rule) and the docs indeed say GA:
